  • March 14, 2007 - Redding Electric Utility (REU) had the privilege to host a classroom event at Turtle Bay for students and teachers from Juniper School at Turtle Bay Museam for the REU Experience "It's My Planet". The students and the teachers were fantastic, great questions and great kids. Topics covered included the basics of electricity, safety around electricity, renewable energy resources, conservation, the difference between a locally controled utility and an investor owned utility, and a great electric show.   • January 24, 2007 - Redding Electric Utility (REU) made its debut of “REU’s Energy #Experience at Turtle Bay . . ., Its My Planet’” on January 24th. Students from Trinity Lutheran School enjoyed a full day of fun, learning, and excitement during their recent field trip to Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The students “experienced” the REU education program in the areas of Electrical Safety, Energy Conservation, Power Production, Renewable Energy, and of course, shared many laughs. REU extends its gratitude to Turtle Bay and Trinity Lutheran School for their participation in this enjoyable learning experience. To view pictures, please click here.

  • December 2, 2006 - Redding Electric Utility (REU) participated in the 2006 Lighted Christmas Parade with the float theme, "Country Western Christ-mas." J. C. Berry was kind enough to lend us his trailer again this year. The flatbed had a sleigh going up a hill and the trailer had a Christmas barn party. Many REU employees helped build the float and fun was had by all. REU is proud to be a part of our community!   • Bonneville Power Administration featured Redding Electric Utility Safety and Conservation Program in their monthly newsletter.   • March 4, 2006 - Redding Electric Utility sponsored the 2006 Regional Science Bowl.  For more information click here.
  • December 16, 2005 - Redding Electric Utility presented Electrical, Electrical Safety, and Energy Conservation education programs to schools. Recently, we received some fun letters and pictures from the students.

  • December 3, 2005 - Redding Electric Utility participated in the Redding Trade Club's annual lighted Christmas Parade. For fun pictures and more information please click here.

  • October 2-8, 2005 - Redding Electric Utility celebrated Public Power Week and the benefits of being a locally owned, locally controlled utility.  During the week, we sponsored many events.  The kickoff at the Mt.   • September 17, 2005 - Redding Electric Utility participated in the Kid's Day America event.  The event was scheduled to highlight safety for all children.  Redding Electric Utility presented safety and conservation demonstrations.  For more information, please click here.
