Renewable Energy FAQs (CLICK HERE)

Biomass What is Biomass Power?
Biomass is the conversion of forest and agricultural plant materials to form energy, like electricity. Biomass Power is an important energy resource. It has been the largest U.S. renewable energy resource since 2000, and reduces fire hazards in forest lands and greatly reduces greenhouse gas emissions since it is considered a carbon neutral form of renewable energy.

Biomass Power has the ability to generate electricity around the clock and can be used as a base-load resource to fill in for other intermittent forms of renewable energy, such as solar and wind power. Biomass Power can still be challenging to bring home due to its remote locations.

Does REU Purchase or Produce Biomass Energy?
REU recently entered into a long-term contract with a Northern California forest products company to purchase biomass energy generated at its sawmill. REU is committed to Biomass energy as part of its long-range renewable resource planning.
