REU's Earth Advantage Program Managers, Bryan Cope and Dave Jackson, traveled to Portland, OR, in late October with the City of Redding Building Department's Bill Nagel, three of the largest builders in our community -- Northwest Homes, Ochoa & Shehan, and Palomar Builders - and the Shasta Builders' Exchange. The trip was organized for participants to learn more about the Program and see it put into practice by the local utility, Portland General Electric and developers. The trip included presentations by Portland General and Renaissance Builders, the largest Earth Advantage Program builder in the Portland area. REU and our local builders were all very enthusiastic about the Program and the opportunities it could provide to our community. Earth Advantage is now in Redding! Ochoa & Shehan, Habitat for Humanity, and Gold Ribbon, Inc., have all signed up as REU Earth Advantage Builders/Partners. REU is confident more local builders will join the "team" very soon!
