The Life Support program is intended for persons who would have a life threatening situation if they had a loss of power (i.e., operating a respirator, ventilator, oxygen concentrator or other medical equipment that requires electricity). HOME PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
The City of Redding (City) recently received almost $900,000 from the Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant, funded through the U.S. Department of Energy, as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) economic stimulus program. These funds will be used to implement the City’s newly developed Home Performance Program that is being implemented by Redding Electric Utility (REU). This Program will initially provide training through the Shasta Builders’ Exchange to create a green workforce that is capable of performing whole house-based energy efficiency improvements pursuant to California Building Performance Contractors Association standards and guidelines. After the training is instituted, REU expects to be able to dispatch contractors and perform the efficiency improvements and remediation work in customers’ homes beginning early 2010.

REU is developing a list of single family dwellings within the City of Redding that may be eligible to participate in the program. To be eligible to participate in this program, residents and their respective homes must meet certain qualifications and guidelines. If you are interested in being considered for participation in the program, please read the information below to see if you and your home may qualify. Click here to download a program application.
