Redding's Electric Utility provides highly reliable service to its customers. Based on statewide reliability data for investor-owned utilities (IOUs), Redding's electric customers experience less than one half the number of outages experienced by others around the state. The data also shows that the total outage time per year for the average Redding customer was less than one half of that experienced by others around the state.
The data below represents present comparisons of historic outage data for Redding's Electric Utility, two other municipal electric utilities in northern California, and an average for the state's three largest IOUs. The total amount of time per year that the average Redding customer experienced an electrical outage compares very favorably to other utilities-particularly the large IOUs' systems.
