California Senate Bill 1305 requires retail suppliers of electricity to report to consumers "accurate, reliable and simple to understand information on the sources of energy that are (being) used...." (Public Utilities Code Section 398.1(b)). The program is administered by the California Energy Commission (CEC) and additional information can be found on the CEC's Power Content Label web page.
REU is required to post its Power Content Label on a quarterly basis that estimates the percentages of fuel types (including renewable fuels) consumed by electrical generators that serve the City of Redding. The Power Content Label below will be updated each quarter to reflect the changes in fuel sources as the year progresses.
The California Power Mix is provided by the CEC. REU updates the Power Content Label when new information is provided by the CEC.
Why does this Power Content Label Look Different This Year?
The Power Content Label has been changed to reflect updated figures from the CEC. Each year the CEC will update California's Power Mix based upon the information received from various sellers of electricity in the State. For more information regarding the CEC's calculation of California's Power Mix, please visit the 2006 Net System Power Report published by the CEC.
What About Previous Power Content Labels Published by REU?
In addition to the quarterly Power Content Label, REU is required to publish its fuel sources on a historical basis for the prior year. The 2006 Power Content Label contains the actual fuel sources that were used to serve the City of Redding for the entire year. The list below provides a link to prior Power Content Labels that have been published by REU:
