On Wednesday, March 23, 2005, REU employees from Energy Services and Distribution provided presentations on basic electric theories, safety and conservation to sixty fourthgrade students at Alta Mesa Elementary School.  Fun was had by all and the energy level was high, as well as fast-paced.  These students were bright, interactive and full of enthusiasm.  All areas of electric were covered from the dos and don'ts around electricity, where electricity comes from, to how to save money and help their community, California, and the environment.  They also learned about the advantages of having a locally owned, locally controlled utility.  The bottom line . . . they learned that they are the owners of Redding Electric Utility.
